Why not Wagyu? It’s something Brian Stamps, owner of Grasslands Wagyu, contemplated when looking at expanding his herd of red and black Angus cattle in 2016. He turned his keen business eye into looking at various breeds which produce on the highest level. As the highly prized Wagyu beef yields outstanding flavor that is exquisitely marbled and extremely tender, it was an easy choice. Importing the most elite animals he could find, Brian has focused on top bloodlines and utilizes carcass data as he has developed the Grasslands Wagyu herd. 

A native Oklahoman with a degree in animal science from Colorado State University, Brian has been involved in a variety of operations, from oil and gas to horses to cattle. What began as a bit of a tax write-off for his oil and gas business has turned into a passion, which is evident in the quality of Wagyu cattle he is producing, day in and day out.
